Iran war live: Israel running low on missile interceptors Middle East Eye
Iranian FM says strikes on Gulf in response to US-Israeli strikes on Iran Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said Iran's missile and drone strikes on the Gulf were responses to US forces using the territory of its regional allies. Speaking to CBS News, Aragchi framed the strikes as a direct response to US military personnel using Gulf nations to launch strikes onto Iran. “These are the countries that have given their soil to American forces to attack us,” Araghchi said. “So what can we do? We just sit and watch that American forces are attacking us from their soil? … We are only targeting American assets, American installations and American military bases. Everything belongs to Americans.” Earlier this week, Aragchi joined other ministerial colleagues at the annual Al-Quds rally, as a show of defiance, after US War Secretary Pete Hegseth claimed Iran's leadership were hiding like "rats". Araghchi added that Iranian forces have provided safe passage for vessels from other nations and the Strait of Hormuz is not completely closed but insecurity arises from US aggression. “We provide them security to pass because we have not closed this strait. They are not coming themselves because of the insecurity that is there, because of the aggression by the US.” Aragchi added that the Iranians had given up on negotiations and that they "don’t see any reason why we should talk with Americans, because we were talking with them when they decided to attack us, and that was for the second time. "This is a war of choice by President Trump and the United States, and we are going to continue our self-defence."

Oil could pass 2008 record of $147.50 a barrel as damage and field closures risk compounding supply shock caused by Iran war About 20 miles off the coast of Iran lies the source of the petrostate’s economic lifeblood and the latest target of US military aggression: an 8 sq mile coral island through which nine in every 10 barrels of Iranian crude passes each day. The US president’s decision to launch a weekend attack on Kharg Island, the home of Iran’s processing hub and the heart of its economy, is an unsurprising counterstrike to the Iranian regime’s ongoing chokehold on the oil market’s trade artery. US Energy Secretary expects war with Iran to 'end in next few weeks' US Energy Secretary Chris Wright has told US media that he expects the war with Iran to end within the "next few weeks." Speaking to ABC News, Wright said: "I think that this conflict will certainly come to the end in the next few weeks – could be sooner than that. But the conflict will come to the end in the next few weeks, and we’ll see a rebound in (energy) supplies and a pushing down in prices after that."

My family fled Iran in 1979 as members of a religious minority. Now we watch from the safety of Australia as our community is persecuted again As a second-generation Iranian migrant, I’ve been suffocated by helplessness over the past two months as my spiritual brothers and sisters in Iran fight for a sense of freedom in their home country. Now, as war hits the region, millions of Iranians living around the world watch with trepidation, praying for peace in the face of yet another harrowing conflict. My family fled just before the Iranian revolution in 1979. We are Baháʼís – members of the largest non-Muslim religious minority in Iran. Bahá’ís have been persecuted since the faith’s inception in the mid-19th century, and in times of unrest, things get worse. We can only imagine what is in store. Continue reading...
