Iran says US staging attacks using Shahed drone copy Lucas to blame Tehran Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya military command headquarters accused the United States and Israel of carrying out drone attacks across the region and falsely attributing them to Iranian forces, according to a statement carried by IRIB. The spokesperson said that the US and Israel are using the Lucas drone, a copy of the Iranian Shahed drone, and falsely attributing those strikes to Iranian forces. “Examples of this are the vicious attacks on centres in neighbouring and friendly countries such as Turkey, Kuwait, and Iraq in recent days,” the command said. It added that Iran “only attacks the targets, centres, and interests” of the United States and Israel and “will take responsibility for any place it targets by issuing an official announcement.”
Iran says US launched attack on Kharg Island from UAE Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said the United States is launching rocket attacks on Kharg Island and Abu Musa from locations in the United Arab Emirates, including near Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, according to Iranian state media. “They launched these rockets from the soil of our neighbours. It is crystal clear they are using our neighbours’ territory to attack us,” Araghchi said, adding the attacks involved the HIMARS artillery rocket system. Press TV reported Araghchi as saying that Iranian forces tracked the attacks and warned that launching weapons from densely populated areas was extremely dangerous. He added that Iran would respond but would exercise caution to avoid hitting residential areas. Zolfaghari said the US military had been launching missiles from ports, docks and hideouts within cities in the UAE.
Trump threatens more strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island US President Donald Trump threatened further strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island oil export hub and urged allies to send warships to secure the Strait of Hormuz, news agency Reuters reported. Trump said US strikes had “totally demolished” most of the island and warned that more attacks could follow. “We may hit it a few more times just for fun,” he told NBC News, adding that Iran appeared ready to negotiate but “the terms aren't good enough yet.” Satellite image shows an oil terminal at Kharg Island, Iran, on 25 February 2026. US senator warns Trump has ‘lost control’ of war on Iran MEE staff on Sat, 03/14/2026 - 23:17 Democratic Senator Chris Murphy said Iran war escalation shows Trump 'badly misjudged' the region and Tehran's ability retaliate Smoke rises from the direction of an energy installation in the Gulf emirate of Fujairah on March 14, 2026. (AFP) Off A senior US senator has raised the alarm that the United States and Israel have pushed the Middle East into a rapidly escalating crisis after launching a war on Iran, saying President Donald Trump has “lost control” of the conflict. Democratic Senator Chris Murphy delivered the warning in a series of posts on X, arguing that the war has already thrown the region in a spiral of violence. Murphy wrote, "It’s crystal clear now that Trump has lost control of this war. He badly misjudged Iran’s ability to retaliate. The region is on fire." He said the first crisis centres on the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow shipping corridor through which a more than 20 percent the world’s oil and gas supply moves through. Murphy warned that Washington underestimated Tehran’s ability to disrupt the route. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); He wrote, "Trump believed Iran would not close the Strait of Hormuz. He was wrong. And now oil prices are spiking." The senator said Iran’s use of drones, speedboats and sea mines makes the waterway extremely difficult to secure, adding that the weapons “cannot be eliminated. They are too numerous, too spread out and hidden." Murphy said escorting tankers through the strait would place US naval forces at serious risk. 'Trump blundered' The second crisis, he said, stems from the growing role of drones in modern warfare. "Iran can hit oil sites in the region indefinitely because they posses so many cheap, weaponized drones," he wrote. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Murphy pointed to attacks in the Gulf that have disrupted shipping and energy production, warning that the war in Ukraine has already demonstrated how drones have transformed modern conflict. "If Trump paid any attention to the Ukraine War he would have noticed how warfare has changed. But he didn’t. And he blundered." It’s crystal clear now that Trump has lost control of this war. He badly misjudged Iran’s ability to retaliate. The region is on fire. March 14, 2026 At the same time, air defence systems across the region are under strain. Israel has already warned Washington that its supply of ballistic missile interceptors is running low as the war enters its third week. Murphy said the conflict is also expanding geographically. "A broader, regional war is breaking out as Iranian proxies in Lebanon hit Israel and those in Iraq target the US.. Israel is now threatening a massive ground invasion of Lebanon, which could become its own new crisis." He warned that other fronts could soon ignite. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 'Trump has no endgame' "So far, the Houthis in Yemen have been relatively quiet. Probably not for long. They can project power into the Red Sea", he said. Since the onset of the Gaza genocide in October 2023, the Houthis in retaliation closed much of that route. Murphy said Syria could also descend back into violence. "For Syria, this is the worst time for Trump to strike Iran. Syria could explode again." Iran war: Israel tells US its running low on missile interceptors Read More » The final crisis, Murphy said, is the absence of any plan to end the war, noting that "Trump has no endgame. Iran and its proxies can create chaos indefinitely." He warned that a US ground invasion would bring devastating consequences saying that it "would be Armageddon" with thousands of dead Americans. Murphy said declaring victory and withdrawing would not solve the problem either. "Declare false victory? Then the new Iranian hardliners in charge just rebuild what we destroyed." He concluded by urging the administration to end the war. "All of this was totally foreseeable. Frankly, it’s why previous presidents weren’t so stupid to start a war like this." "Trump has lost control of the war. His best course now is to cut his losses and end it. That’s the only way to prevent an even bigger disaster," he said. Iran war: Israel tells US its running low on missile interceptors MEE staff on Sat, 03/14/2026 - 21:54 US officials say Israel’s missile defence stocks are under severe strain during the war with Iran This picture taken on March 8, 2026 shows launchers of the Patriot missile system deployed at a US military base in South Korea were withdrawn by the United States relocated to the Middle East amid its war in Iran. (Yonhap/AFP) Off Israel has warned the United States that its supply of ballistic missile interceptors is running dangerously low as its war on Iran enters its third week, according to US officials who spoke to Semafor. Israeli defence systems entered the current conflict already depleted after last year’s fighting with Iran, when large numbers of interceptors were used to block incoming missiles. Iran’s sustained barrage has placed further strain on Israel’s long-range air defence network. Reports indicate that Iran has also equipped some of its missiles with cluster munitions, complicating interception efforts and accelerating the depletion of Israel’s stockpile. Washington has been aware of the problem for months. One US official told Semafor, “It’s something we expected and anticipated" The same official stressed that the United States is not facing similar shortages and retains significant interceptor reserves. The comment comes amid growing concern that a prolonged war with Iran could rapidly drain missile defence supplies. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); It remains unclear whether Washington will transfer additional interceptors to Israel. Previous US military aid packages have included missile defence systems, and any further transfers could place pressure on American inventories. “We have all that we need to protect our bases and our personnel in the region and our interests,” the US official said, adding that Israel is “coming up with solutions to address” their shortage. US President Donald Trump recently claimed that the United States possesses a “virtually unlimited” supply of munitions. That claim could not be independently verified. During a 12-day conflict with Iran last June, the US fired more than 150 THAAD interceptors, according to the Center for Strategic and International Studies - roughly a quarter of the US inventory at the time. In the opening days of the current war, Washington also reportedly expended about $2.4bn worth of Patriot interceptors.
