Sri Lanka: Bodies of 84 sailors from the Iranian frigate torpedoed by the United States repatriated Friday The bodies of 84 Iranian sailors recovered off the coast of Sri Lanka after their frigate was torpedoed by an American submarine on 4 March will be repatriated to Iran on Friday, according to the Sri Lankan foreign ministry. “All the required local procedures have been completed and the (bodies of the) Iranians are being transported to a special plane for repatriation,” a spokesman for the ministry, Tushara Rodrigo, told AFP, adding that the 32 other rescued sailors “remain in Sri Lanka.” The ship, IRIS Dena, was hit by a torpedo from a US submarine while it was returning from a naval exercise organised by India, amid the US-Israeli war on Iran.
Iran Red Crescent says nearly 20,000 homes damaged in attacks Nearly 20,000 residential units in Iran have been damaged in attacks, according to the head of Iran’s Red Crescent Society, state news agency IRNA reported. The report said, “24,531 civilian units have been damaged in various sectors, of which 19,775 units are residential.” It added that 4,511 business units were also damaged, while 69 schools were hit and 195 teachers and students were injured. The Red Crescent said 16 of its centres, along with 21 rescue vehicles and 19 ambulances, were also damaged. In a statement, IRGC said “the evil enemy, failing to achieve its field battle goals, is once again pursuing the instillation of fear and street riots,” and vowed to deliver “a stronger blow than on January 8” if fresh unrest breaks out.

Report: Over 100 US troops injured in Kuwait attack More than 100 US service members were injured in an early Iranian attack on a base in Kuwait where American forces are stationed, Al Jazeera has reported. US officials have admitted that seven National Guard members were wounded and later died of their injuries.
