The attack followed an evacuation warning issued earlier in the day by the Israeli military for several neighbourhoods in the area. AFP correspondents in the Lebanese capital reported hearing a loud explosion as the strike hit the district, a stronghold of Hezbollah that Israel has repeatedly targeted since it started its war on Lebanon.
