Iran war live: US bombs Iran’s Kharg Island, warns oil facilities next Al Jazeera
Iran warns of retaliation against US-linked oil sites if energy sector attacked Iran warned that any attack on its oil and energy infrastructure would trigger retaliatory strikes on facilities in the region owned by companies with American shares or those cooperating with the United States, state media reported, citing Tehran’s Khatam al-Anbiya military command headquarters. The statement came after US President Donald Trump said American forces had struck military targets on Iran’s Kharg Island, which handles most of the country’s crude exports. Trump also threatened to target the island’s oil infrastructure if Iran continues blocking ships from passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Fars: Kharg Island defence systems reactivated hour after US attack US President Donald Trump’s claim that American strikes destroyed air defences on Kharg Island was incorrect, Iran’s Fars News Agency quoted an informed source as saying. The report said that the island’s defence systems were reactivated about an hour after the attack. Trump earlier said US forces had “obliterated” military targets on the island, a key hub for Iran’s oil exports in the Persian Gulf. The Iranian source said the air defence network resumed operations shortly after the strike, disputing the extent of the damage reported by Washington. Video posted by US President Trump on Truth Social shows strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island, a key oil export hub in the Persian Gulf.
US-Israeli strikes killed Iran's leader but have not toppled the government, which now, from its perch on the Strait of Hormuz, has put the entire world economy on the war's frontlines. The initial US victory in killing supreme leader Ali Khamenei has given way to a conflict that Washington cannot completely control, sharply limiting President Donald Trump's options.
Iran's leaders are seeking to show the staying power of their near half-century old clerical-based system and prove that it can withstand the killing of its longtime ruler and war with United States and Israel, analysts said. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, supreme leader since the death of revolutionary founder Ruhollah Khomeini in 1989, was killed along with several family members and top security figures in air strikes at the start of the US-Israeli attacks late last month.

US Centcom says Iran did not destroy USS Abraham Lincoln The US military said Iran did not destroy or disable the USS Abraham Lincoln after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it had struck the aircraft carrier with ballistic missiles in the Gulf. US Central Command (Centcom) said the IRGC was “peddling recycled lies” about the attack. “To be clear: the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group continues to dominate Iranian airspace from the sea,” Centcom said in a post on X, rejecting the claim that the vessel had been rendered inoperable. The IRGC earlier said it attacked the aircraft carrier in the Gulf with four ballistic missiles. “The land and sea will increasingly become the graveyard of the terrorist aggressors,” the IRGC said. Hacker group linked to Iran claims cyberattack on US corporation An Iran-linked hacker group claimed responsibility for a cyberattack targeting Stryker, a Michigan-based technology company, saying the attack was retaliation for US and Israeli military strikes on Iran. The group, known as Handala Team, said on social media it targeted about 200,000 systems, servers and mobile devices and described Stryker as a “Zionist-rooted corporation.” Cybersecurity researchers have previously linked the group to Iran’s Intelligence Ministry. Stryker said it was “experiencing a global network disruption to our Microsoft environment as a result of a cyberattack,” adding a day later that the situation was contained to its internal Microsoft systems.
