Russia giving Iran 'specific advice on drone tactics', CNN reports Russia is providing Iran with advanced drone warfare tactics developed during its war in Ukraine, according to a Western intelligence official cited by CNN. The assistance reportedly includes guidance on how to deploy Iranian-designed Shahed drones, which Russia has mass-produced and used extensively in Ukraine, to strike US and Gulf targets in the Middle East. The official said Moscow’s support appears to have evolved from general intelligence sharing to more specific operational advice on drone targeting strategies. According to CNN, the tactics may involve coordinated waves of drones and changing flight paths designed to evade air defences, methods Russia has used repeatedly in Ukraine. The intelligence official also raised concerns about broader Iranian threats in the Gulf, including the potential use of mines in the Strait of Hormuz and maritime drone or small-boat attacks against US naval forces, CNN reported.
Experts say Iran’s vast, mountainous terrain would make invasion difficult but a small, precise mission is possible.

WASHINGTON, March 11 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump told Axios on Wednesday that there's "practically nothing left" to target in Iran and that the war there will end "soon." "Little this and that... Any time I want it to end, it will end," Trump said during a brief phone interview. The conflict began nearly two weeks ago with strikes on Iran by the U.S. and Israel aimed at dismantling Iran's military capabilities and nuclear program. ANKARA, March 11 (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that the war in Iran must be stopped before the whole Middle East region is "thrown into the fire", adding that diplomacy must be given a chance. NATO air defences have in the last week intercepted two Iranian missiles headed toward southern Turkey, where there are air and radar bases used by NATO and the United States, and the alliance has since beefed up defences there.
