US aircraft carrier Gerald Ford docks after fire on board Nuclear-powered US aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford will "temporarily" pull into port after a fire on board, officials said, as the war with Iran entered its third week. Reuters reported that the carrier, operating in the Red Sea, is expected to head to Souda Bay in Crete for inspection and repairs. The fire, which broke out in a laundry area, left nearly 200 sailors needing treatment for smoke inhalation and damaged about 100 sleeping berths, though critical systems remained unaffected. TEHRAN, Mar. 18 (MNA) – Iran has sent seven separate letters to the United Nations and the UN Security Council (UNSC) regarding the US assaults on the country through regional countries.

Al Jazeera reported that air raids hit the towns of Sahmar and Yahmar in the Bekaa Valley, with Sahmar reportedly targeted twice within hours. Additional strikes were reported overnight in Beirut and southern Lebanon.
